Phantom of the Opera
Through the eyes of a young singer manipulated by her magnetic and dangerous “Angel of Music,” we journey into the fantastical world of the 1880s Paris Opera House. Inspired by Gaston Lereux’s original novel, this tale of seduction and surrender is set against the visually stunning backdrop of Lon Cheney’s 1925 classic film. Through beautiful vocals and spellbinding narrative, Marta Burton and Nick Rossi mesmerize audiences while accessing the story’s deep and timeless power.

Phantom of the Opera
DARK DUET
Notes from Marta about Phantom and the Dark Duet:
I didn’t know that I cared about this story anymore...I had learned the famous music years ago when I lived in New York, a young “soprano” studying 7 days a week with an “angel” my “genius” teacher....the one who would “make me into a great artist...” READ MORE
Special performances inspired by Denver Public Library’s Fresh City Life director and creative idea-man, Chris Loffelmacher, bring a new element to the Phantom experience: The famed 1925 film starring Lon Cheney is used as a backdrop for the re-telling of this gem. The black and white film, now considered one of the first great horror films, sets the scene for Christine’s haunting story.

Media Review
“Incredible entertainment. Nick Rossi and Marta Burton were absolutely amazing!! It was operatic, musical and theatrical…they received a standing ovation!” ~ Melissa Clifford, Assistant Manager, Heather Gardens Community Center
“Burton demonstrates her incredible ability to mesmerize audiences with the pure beauty of her voice and person. The moment she walks on stage and begins to sing, a hush falls over the listeners, as if none within the sound of her voice even dares to breathe. Not until the last note fades do those listeners realize that they have been spellbound, transported into another world from which they are reluctant to return. By some kind of inner magic, she reaches to the very souls of her listeners.”

“Burton is marvelous in her delivery…a tour de force...”
